For the price, this is a solid little piece - real wood, not MDF. Ours is sitting up on the fireplace hearth - so we already had 18 inches of height - be aware of its measurements, it is not a huge piece of furniture, but it was perfect for what we needed. A few other things to be aware of - there are no shelves where the baskets are - it is just a frame for the baskets to sit on, so you can't remove the baskets and use the area as an open shelf. Having said all that - for $239, it is real wood, solid, very little assembly needed (just screw the feet in at the bottom - IF you want to use the feet, you can use it without feet too), so I'm giving it 5 stars for value for the price..
